Qualification Overview

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply specialised knowledge and skills in leadership and management across a range of enterprise and industry contexts.

Individuals at this level contribute to organisational objectives by planning and implementing leadership and management functions with accountability for personal and team outcomes. They demonstrate initiative, judgement, and responsibility in carrying out their roles.

They use cognitive, communication, and organisational skills to identify, analyse, and synthesise information from a variety of sources and transfer that knowledge to others. They also apply creative or conceptual skills to express ideas, address complex problems, and respond to changing circumstances.

Course Structure

Entry Requirement

Students entering this course at Australian Institute of Trade and Training must meet the following entry requirements:

Age Requirements

Students must be a minimum age of 18 years or above at the time of course commencement.

Academic Requirements

To enter this qualification, applicants should have successfully completed the equivalent of Australian Year 12 or Certificate III or higher.

English Language Requirements

To enter this qualification, applicants must meet the English language requirements:
  • IELTS (Academic) overall score of 6.0 or TOEFL iBT score of 64 or Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) score of 169 or PTE Academic score of 50, or equivalent.
English language competence can also be demonstrated through documented evidence of any of the following:
  • Minimum five (5) years of study in English in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Britain, America, South America, or Ireland.
  • Completed a qualification at AQF Level 4 or higher in English in Australia.
  • Successfully completed Year 12 in Australia with instruction in English.
  • Completed a recognised ELICOS program with an upper-intermediate or equivalent proficiency level.
Applicants who do not have the documented evidence to meet the English language requirements may complete an LLN test (Language Literacy and Numeracy) online to achieve an ACSF level 3 result.

Pre-training Review

All international learners will undergo a pre-training review to assess their suitability for the course and identify their needs. This review includes questions about previous education and training, the relevance of the course to the applicant, and relevant experience.

The pre-training review will also help identify any support needs and possible opportunities for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Credit Transfer.

Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Assessment

All students are required to complete an LLN assessment prior to commencing the course. This diagnostic process identifies whether the student needs additional LLN support during their studies.

Note: Students who have completed the LLN test during the enrolment process to meet the English language entry requirements will not need to take the LLN test again.
